IMM TO PROVIDE UNLIMITED FREE INTERNET ON THE REPUBLIC DAY
IMM will enable quota-free internet for Istanbul’s inhabitants on October 28 and 29, mainly for the Republic’s 97th anniversary. Internet users of Istanbul will enjoy IMM’s free unlimited WiFi services on the Republic Day and the day before.
IMM’s WiFi services provided by an IMM subsidiary – İSTTELKOM will be unlimited and free-of-charge due to the Republic Day celebrations on October 29. This service to be launched especially for the 97th anniversary of the Republic will last for two days. Internet users of Istanbul will benefit the free-of-charge and quota-free IMM WiFi services on October 28 and 29. All IMM WiFi Hotspots across Istanbul will offer unlimited internet services.
4 million users
Turkey’s largest free internet network IMM WiFi’s subscribers reached 4 million with an enhanced infrastructure and boosted service quality. Presently IMM WiFi provides internet access to around 100 thousand users at 7 thousand 679 points. The number of users is expected to increase in parallel with the new points. In average, 3 thousand 700 domestic and 700 foreign users are registered with IMM WiFi per day.
Monthly 30 GB free internet
IMM WiFi service provides 30 GB free internet service per month with a daily speed of 2 megabytes and 1-gigabyte quota to Istanbul residents. In average, IMM WiFi is downloaded at 250 terabytes and uploaded at 25 terabytes per month. Mostly visitors from Russia, Germany, Iran and the United Kingdom enjoy IMM’s WiFi. The most frequently used connection spots are located at the Istiklal Avenue in Beyoğlu, Sultanahmet, Kadıköy, Eminönü Square and Taksim Atatürk Library.
World-renowned prestigious award
Highly frequented by Istanbul’s residents and visitors, IMM WiFi has been recently ranked the first service provider ‘Smart Cities’ within the scope of ‘Telecom World Awards 2020’, one of the most prestigious global awards. Due to the pandemic, the award ceremony has been held online this year, and with the IMM WiFi, Turkey won one of the prizes in 16 different categories. The award ceremony has been taking place for 16 years. The jury selects the award receivers based on their ability to transform their sectors through innovation and technology, develop them through partnerships and with technology and provide services.
